Sammamish 16-year-old Yina Moe-Lange put forth a valiant performance at the 2010 Winter Olympics, placing in the middle of the pack in both her events — the giant slalom and slalom.

Competing for her native land, Denmark, Moe-Lange finished the giant slalom on Feb. 25 in 47th place overall. She completed her first run in 1 minute, 24.68 seconds. Her second run of the women’s giant slalom, which was postponed from Wednesday to Thursday, was completed in 1:18.99 — nearly 6 seconds faster than her first run. Moe-Lange's combined time of 2:43.67 placed her 16.56 seconds behind gold medalist Viktoria Rebensburg (2:27.11) from Germany.

Moe-Lange finished the slalom in 52nd place overall on Feb. 26, completing her runs in times of 1:02.75 and 1:01.95 (2:04.70). Germany's Maria Riesch won the event in 1:42.89.

Moe-Lange had a brief stay at home, but is already off on a 17-day trip, training for Junior Nationals, the GMC Cup, the Miele Cup, and the NorAM finals.
